Career Prep Programs provide access to employability skills training, work-based learning, and internship opportunities to DC students in their career fields of interest.

Career Prep Programs

  • Tenacity Employability Skills CurriculumThe Tenacity Employability Skills curriculum emphasizes the development of the traits of poise, initiative, and tenacity, to prepare students for successful careers.
  • Career Bridge Program – School Year InternshipsThe DCPS Career Bridge Program exposes DCPS seniors to career coaching, career exposure events, professional skill building, and internship opportunities, so seniors, ultimately, secure a post-secondary plan. Participants are eligible for a paid 8 week school year internship. Students work 10 hours per week during Fall 2018 and Spring 2019.
  • Career Ready Internship Program – Summer InternshipsThe mission of the DCPS Career Ready Internship initiative is to provide meaningful and intentional work experiences to emerging young professionals and prepare them for a life of self-sufficiency. After receiving intensive employability skills training, Career Ready interns will be exposed to a variety of career fields and receive guidance from leading industry professionals during their summer internship.
